3. apply Online.

Go to India’s e-Visa Application Page. click on e-Visa Application on the top menu. See screenshots below for reference.

Accomplish the short form. Don’t forget to tick e-Tourist Visa, and then choose Recreation/Sightseeing. once you’re done. Click Continue.

On the next page, fill out the form. You will be asked for your personal Details, family Details, employment Details, and the details of your trip. It’s pretty straightforward. The only thing that confused me a little bit was the part that asked for References in India. If you’re not checking out anyone, you only need to enter your hotel, its address, and contact number. You will also be asked for your reference in the Philippines.

On the next page, publish your photo and a scan of your passport’s bio page.Important! There are a lot of impostor web sites that pretend to be the official India E-Visa portal. It’s uncanny. They look official. but these are scams. They will charge you a lot more than triple the real cost of the visa. Don’t fall for them. Make sure you check out the ideal website, which is www.indianvisaonline.gov.in.

4. clear up the visa fee.

You will be asked whether you want to pay by means of SBI or Axis. These are payment gateways. SBI stands for state bank of India. I chose SBI.

Then you will be asked if you want to pay by means of PayPal, debit card, or credit scores card. For credit scores Card, Visa and MasterCard are accepted. For Debit Card, Visa, Mastercard and Maestro are accepted.

The fee is USD 50 + USD 1.75 bank transaction charge. total of $51.75.

Update: According to some of our readers, the visa fee is now USD80. They paid a total of USD82.35, including transaction charge.

5. wait for your visa!

That’s it! After that, the waiting game begins.

What you’re actually waiting for is an email from them consisting of your electronic travel Authorization (ETA). Here’s what it looks like.

Normally, it takes 72 hours. but I finished my application on may 17 at 4pm and received my visa at 9am the next day. That was incredibly quick.

The visa is double-entry and valid for 60 days!

The visa can also be used within 120 days of issuance. This indicates that even though my trip was canceled, if I want to, I can still use it within the next four months. Hooray!

6. confirm that your visa is granted.

Before your journey, you have to double-check that the status of your visa is GRANTED.

To do that, enter your Application ID and Passport Number on this page: India Visa Status.

If everything looks fine, you’re good to go! If not, contact the e-Visa support center by sending an email to indiatvoa@gov.in.

C. क्यालाउलु सफारी

A piece of Africa in the Philippines? Yes!

Although not really an African safari, the Calauit Safari Park still entices you with an experience that is different from the typical island destination activities in the Philippines. The island offers a habitat for animals that are not native in the Philippines like giraffes and zebras.

Calauit is located in the municipality of Busuanga, on the other side of the island, so it can take a lot of time to reach. To get to the Calauit Safari, you travel by sea or travel by land.

10. कालो टापु

Situated northwest of Busuanga Island is Malajon Island, popularly called Black Island by the locals and tourists.

It looks intimidating from afar because of its distinct feature — the dark colossal karst cliffs that mostly define the island’s landscape. These peaks rise from a huge bed of white sand that slopes steeply and slides under the waves. It’s a broad and pleased playground for the beach lover.

Aside from snorkeling, diving, or beach-bumming, you can also go cave hunting as the island have caves that are open to the public. The most significant can be easily accessed by climbing a short ladder. Its floor is cracked open, allowing a peek of the cold crystal water that filled its miniature lakes. Stalactites adorn its ceiling and rocks covered in sparkling white silica make up its walls.

11. pamalicaniान टापु

There are two Pamalican Islands in Palawan: the popular one is in Cuyo, which is exclusively owned by Amanpulo; the other can be found in Busuanga, easily available from Coron.

Lying west of Busuanga, this 50-hectare island is fringed by a broad expanse of light-colored sand and is covered by a dense forest. This is the best place for beach lovers to laze around and swim.

How to get a POLIO VACCINATION CERTIFICATE from the Bureau of Quarantine

Some countries require travelers from the Philippines to present upon entry a proof of immunization against poliomyelitis or polio. the most widely accepted file is an international Certificate of Vaccination (ICV) against polio, which you can get from the Bureau of Quarantine (BoQ).

According to the list by the world health Organization, presented by the Bureau of Quarantine, these states are: Afghanistan, Belize, Brunei Darussalam, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Maldives, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, and Ukraine.

However, this may not be clear cut. For example, Indonesia only needs to see an ICV for polio from Filipino tourists only if they’re staying for at least 4 weeks. Otherwise, there’s no need for one. If you’re traveling to one of the discussed destinations, we recommend that you contact their embassy here in the Philippines to have confirmed immunization requirements.

Another thing that varies from one country to another is the type of polio vaccine or the combination schedule they require. This is because there are two types of polio vaccines: OPV and IPV.

Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) is administered orally as drops.

Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV) is administered through an injection by a trained health worker.

Before you get vaccinated, make sure you’re getting the best type or combination required by the country you will visit.

Although the office officially opens at 8am, show up at the Bureau of Quarantine station early because the lines can get crazy long. You’ll see the queue immediately outside the gate. find the end of the line and queue up. This line leads to the gate.

The screening nurse will review your answers to the form by asking them again to you in person. They will ask you about whether you have the following conditions: allergies, autoimmune deficiency conditions, and other medical conditions. They will also ask whether or not you’re undergoing medical treatments like chemotherapy or taking certain medications like steroids.

You need to be truthful about all these because it’s for your own safety. The purpose of this stage is to identify whether or not you are fit to receive the vaccine.

Although the queueing can take some time, the actual screening is pretty fast. Ours took only around five minutes.

4. get vaccinated.

After the screening, you will need to fall in line again. This time, when you reach the end of it, another nurse will administer the vaccine.

The administering nurse will sign the data form.

5. Pay at the cashier.

After receiving the vaccination, proceed to the cashier and work out the P300 fee. There will be another line so be patient.

And don’t forget to get the official receipt.

6. submit the data form to the encoder.

The staff will collect your accomplished and signed data form. They will also check your official receipt to verify that you have already paid. once everything looks good, your ICV (polio vaccination certificate) will be prepared.

7. claim your Polio Vaccination Certificate.

Remember, most embassies require not just the bank certificate but also a bank statement (usually covering the transactions within the past 3 or 6 months). If they see that your account is brand spankin’ new, they might find it suspicious.

Even if you’re not planning on applying for a visa soon, open an account now and slowly build some savings. You’ll never know when an opportunityfor travel will come knocking on your door. If that happens, at least you’ve got one essential requirement down.

Aside from financial capacity, another essential criterion is rootedness.

What is rootedness? Rootedness refers to how strong your ties are in your home country. In other words, you need to show that your life here in the Philippines is good and stable, and that you have no reason to overstay. Remember, a significant number of Filipino tourists violate visa rules in order to work abroad. That’s what embassies are trying to avoid. many visa applications that get rejected are due to failure to prove rootedness.

Having a stable job or company helps show that you have good life here and that you have a reason to return. This is why it’s always challenging to get a visa if you’re unemployed or recently resigned, unless your other requirements are stellar.

Having a steady source of income also proves that you did not game the system. Embassies sometimes run your bank details against your employment/business documents. If they see that things don’t add up, it can be a reason for rejection. For example, if your salary is only P20,000 per month but your bank account shows few deposits of P100,000 each, that can raise some red flags and be the cause of denial.

Does it mean that you need to work full-time to be ready? Not necessarily. read the next sections.

Another common problem that we encounter in messages from our readers is the lack of documentation for their businesses. Something like this:

We’re applying for a visa this week. I have enough funds because we earn from our business.

The problem is, it’s not registered. I don’t have any company document.

Usually I tell them to submit any proof of income — invoices, contracts, etc. but that’s like throwing a Hail Mary. sometimes they work, but typically they don’t, especially with stricter embassies.

It would have been much easier if you just handled the paperwork in the first place. If you have a business, no matter how small, and you don’t have the papers yet, work on them now so you won’t have to worry about it in the future.

Another essential thing: Make sure the company is in your name! even if you are the “real owner” of the business, if it’s not under your name, it’s not technically or legally yours. You won’t be able to use it. We get messages like that too. They own the company but it’s in the name of a cousin or a grandparent. You can’t expect the embassies to believe you really own the company if none of the papers have your name.

When it comes to visa applications, the most grueling period of my travel life was the early years of being a freelancer. even with all the documents, I had to continuously defend or discuss my employment status or source of income during visa interviews or immigration checks. Thankfully, I had the documents to back it up.

If you’re a freelancer, here are some tips:

Make sure you have a contract or a formal, written agreement with your clients.

Collect copies of your invoices and official receipts diligently.

Try to secure a certification from your client proving that you are engaged with them (sort of a Certificate of Employment).

File your taxes.

The last one is important. I’ll discuss further in the next section.

Whether you’re employed, self-employed or a freelancer, file your taxes. Yes, even if you’re tax-exempt (earning P21,000 and below), you should still file them for documentation purposes. Not only is it the right thing to do, you will also need a copy of your ITR (Income tax Returns) for visa application purposes.

The ITR is typically a requirement because it ticks all three items on the checklist: financial capacity, employment status, and rootedness. Some embassies won’t even ask you to submit a Certificate of employment but they demand to see your ITR.

Sure, it is still possible to get an approval even if you don’t have an ITR. (For example, the Korean and Japanese embassies sometimes accept a letter of explanation if you can’t provide one for a valid reason.) but it’s always best to provide when you can.

One way to improve your chances is by beefing up your travel history by first traveling to countries that don’t require a visa. Southeast Asian countries are a good start. When I was backpacking around ASEAN, I met some travelers who are trying to “collect” passport stamps in order to have a better shot at visiting visa countries. They get to reach their ultimate goal while enjoying beautiful destinations!

My first visa country was Japan (because it was the easiest to get). but before I even got there, I made sure I set foot first in visa-free destinations like Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thailand.

That’s not to say that having no travel history means automatic refusal. Likewise, it doesn’t necessarily follow that having an outstanding travel history guarantees approval. It only helps increase your chances, provided that you have all the other requirements down satisfactorily.

Owning a credit report card can also help your application. but it doesn’t make or break your application. think of it as something filed under “Nice to have”.

A credit report card can be considered an additional source of funds when traveling. When applying for a Canadian or Australian visa, for example, a credit report card is one of the options for sources of funds. Some embassies also ask that you submit a copy of your account statement if you have one because it shows your spending and payment habits. It can help show that you are able to sustain your lifestyle here, assuming of course that you are not deep in debt.

Lastly, some embassies have agreements with credit report card companies. the best example is the Korean Embassy, which has been exempting some premium card-owners from submitting financial documents.

Some credit report card companies also partner with airlines and hotels for enormous discounts, which is not really visa-related but still pretty useful. Haha.
