STOP waiting on THE best TIME TO travel

Last Updated: 01/06/2020 | January 6, 2020

As the sun rises on a new year, we look out on the horizon as well as dedicate to be a much better version of ourselves. This year we will travel more.

We ponder the exotic places we hope to discover ourselves in.

We believe of the adventures we’ll go on as well as the people we’ll meet.

We begin to formulate plans, research study trips, as well as save money.

But, as the year progresses, a lot of of us will abandon those dreams, permanently pushing them off as life throws us curveballs as well as seems to want to get in our way.

You’ll discover a reason why today just isn’t the ideal day.

“Tomorrow,” we’ll state to ourselves. “Today isn’t perfect, as well as I just have as well lots of things to do. now is not the ideal time.”

The ideal time is when we have a lot more money, a lot more time off, or when things aren’t so “crazy.”

Then we’ll be able to travel. We just requirement the stars to line up a bit more.

But here’s a secret: there’s never going to be a ideal time to travel.

The concept that the stars will line up as well as you’ll discover the best day to step out of your door as well as into the world is fantasy.

Today may not be the best day — but neither is tomorrow.

Tomorrow, you’ll discover one more reason why you can’t go.

Tomorrow, there will still be a lot more expenses to pay.

Tomorrow, there still won’t be “enough” money.

Tomorrow, there will still be someone’s wedding event or birthday celebration to attend.

Tomorrow, there will still be a lot more planning to do.

Tomorrow, people you understand will still sow the seeds of question in your head.

Tomorrow, you’ll still concern about all the poor stuff that may occur to you.

Tomorrow, you still won’t understand if you’re making the ideal decision.

Tomorrow, you will still second-guess yourself.

Tomorrow, something else will come up as well as you’ll state to yourself, “Today isn’t the ideal day. Let’s try once again tomorrow.”

Tomorrow will never be perfect.

Because there is no such thing as perfection.

The hardest part of any type of journey is stepping out the door. as well as one of the crucial elements to making that very first step much easier is to comprehend that the stars will never line up as well as there will never be the ideal moment to travel.

You just have to go. You have to leap. You have to depend on yourself that it will all work out.

Because it will.

If I had waited for the best day when my good friend stated he would join (he never did) or when I had just a bit a lot more money, I’d still be house in my workstation job.

Back then, I was regularly anxious I hadn’t saved sufficient money. I was regularly anxious I didn’t have the skills to make it through on the road.

There was always a reason to put off my trip.

But sometimes, you just have to take the leap as well as choose it. Ships aren’t indicate to stay in a harbor. You weren’t indicated to stay at house as well as question “what if?”

Because one day, you’ll run out of tomorrows.

And you’ll be full of nothing however unhappiness as well as regret.

So stop waiting.

Stop making excuses.

This is your year.

It doesn’t matter if you can only save a dollar per day. just start. action begets action.

Forget about tomorrow. whatever will work out.

Your expenses will vanish when you cancel the services that produce them.

You’ll make a lot more good friends on the road than you might ever imagine.

You can work overseas.

And if it doesn’t work out, you can always come home.

The world is full of possibilities.

And you’re capable of doing excellent things.

But only if you begin today!

30 things TO SEE and perform in SAN FRANCISCO

Last Updated: 7/12/21 | July 12th, 2021

I like San Francisco. It’s a city home to hippies, techies, artists, immigrants, students, and everyone in between. There’s extraordinary music, tasty food for all budgets, a few of the very best Asian food in the country, parks galore, and an remarkable bohemian vibe.

With so lots of diverse influences, it’s no surprise that San Francisco has progressed into a world-class city that has a ton of remarkable things to see and do.

Personally, I like checking out San Francisco for the food. It’s home to a few of the very best Asian and Mexican food in the country (as well as some extraordinary cafes).

But there is also much a lot more to see here too. It’s a terrific city for a weekend getaway.

But just because it’s an expensive place to live doesn’t indicate a go to has to break the bank.

To help you plan your trip, here are the very best 30 things to see and perform in San Francisco

1. Take a complimentary walking Tour

The first thing I do whenever I arrive in a new destination is take a walking tour. It’s the very best method to get the lay of the land, see the highlights, and ask your concerns to an expert local guide. complimentary SF excursions runs daily complimentary walking excursions that can show you the main sights of the city. You’ll not only get to learn about the city but you’ll have access to an expert local guide who can answer all your concerns and give you individualized suggestions. just be sure to idea at the end!

For a lot more thorough paid tours, inspect out Take Walks. They are my favorite paid excursion company in the city.

2. walk the golden gate Bridge

There is no question that the famous golden gate Bridge is one of San Francisco’s a lot of popular landmarks. opened in 1937, it’s probably the most-photographed bridge in the world. At its inception, it was both the longest and the tallest suspension bridge in the world, spanning 4,200 feet (1,280m) long and standing 746 feet (227m) tall.

You can walk across the bridge (which I recommended) or just gaze at it from every angle and snap your own famous photos. If you have time, make your method to the golden gate national entertainment Area. It has a waterfront promenade, sweeping views of the bridge, and a few easy hiking trails.

3. go to Crissy Field

This park is found near the bridge and makes for a great follow-up. It has a beach, some restaurants, piers where you can see locals fishing, and lots of green area to relax. It uses some sweeping views of the harbor, making it a laid-back place to find in the summertime to have a picnic, lounge in the sun, and enjoy life go by.

The wharf was originally dominated by Italian immigrants who assisted popularize the city’s fish market. If you want to try a few of the mouthwatering seafood that San Francisco is popular for, I sugged Waterbar and the anchor Oyster Bar.

Pier 39 is touristy but it’s also a fun method to spend an hour. There are buskers, tacky souvenir shops, arcades, an aquarium, and tons of overpriced restaurants (so avoid eating here).

6. explore Alcatraz

Alcatraz is probably the most popular (or infamous) prison in America. From 1934-1963, it housed the country’s a lot of notorious criminals (criminals like Al Capone). In its 29 year history, not a single prisoner effectively escaped (or so they say). After its closure, it ended up being a national landmark. visitors can explore the island, learn about the prison and what life was like as an inmate, and excursion the interior. It gets extremely busy in the summertime so be sure to book ahead.

It’s the building that provides this part of town its name.

The mission district is also a fun place to spend a night out. The district has tons of Mexican restaurants in addition to vibrant bars and clubs. get hold of a burrito at Taqueria Cancún or Papolete, or go to one of the mixed drink bars on 16th (Dalva is good).

This is the world’s windiest street. surrounded by gardens and flowers, it’s made up of eight outrageous hairpin turns. during the 1920s, people in San Francisco were beginning to drive around in automobiles. However, lots of of the city’s popular hills were as well steep to navigate. It’s one of the very best locations in the city to eat. There are lots of teahouses, restaurants, bars, souvenir stalls, and fortune cookie makers here. You have to find here at least once and eat.

To really learn about the area, its history, and its people, take a walking excursion with Take Walks. They’re my go-to walking excursion company because they utilize expert local guides and their excursions are always fun and educational. They have a walk particularly focused on Chinatown.

12. ride the cord Cars

No go to to San Francisco is complete without riding on a cord car. The cord car system in San Francisco is the last manually operated system in the entire world. The lost Cemetery of Negativism: Burying poor Vibes in Baguio City

“Do you understand what people did in the old days when they had tricks they didn’t want to share?” Tak stated to one of the android attendants of the train. “They’d climb a moutain, discover a tree, carve a hole in it, whisper the trick into the hole as well as cover it up with mud.”

Tak is a character in 2046, a film by Wong Kar Wai. in that scene, he discovered himself wanting to share a deep trick as well as the attendant was to be his tree. It was a scene that played in my head consistently as I thoroughly walked on the damaged platform as well as heard the music that twigs as well as yearn needles made when they broke.

There are lots of trees in the area however none of them triggered that memory of the film, one of my all-time favorites. What did the task were the tombstones that mark the hilly, cold site. I was at the center of a cemetery, however this was rather different from all the others I had set foot on before. No, no tricks are buried here, however similarly fascinating. There were no crosses on gravestones, only pictures of animals that appeared like they came out of a kiddie animation show. No melancholic messages for mourning, only punny epitaphs that influence smiles as well as laughter. No human bodies six feet under, only negativities — metaphorically, of course. Baguio City just got a bit bit much more insightful.

Adorning one slope of a hill at Camp John Hay, the Cemetery of Negativism (also understood as the lost Cemetery) is part of the camp’s historical Core. recognized by the base’s commanding general John Hightower in the early 1980s, it is a symbolic site for the burying of negativities — thoughts, emotions, mindset — or, as we typically phone call them collectively today, poor vibes.

“Negativism is man’s biggest self imposed infliction, his many limiting factor, his heaviest burden,” a marker by the entrance eloquently explains. “No much more for right here is buried the world’s negativism for all time. Those who rest right here have died not in vain – however for you a stern reminder. As you leave this hill keep in mind that the rest of your life. Be much more Positive.” It sets the mood as well as handles the expectations for the visitors.

Why Dident I?
A pathway made from stone cuts with a red, yearn needle-covered ground, enabling visitors to have a better look at each of the inspiring as well as enlightening yet oddly funny gravestones. One bears the name “Kant B. Done,” stated to be born on January 2, 1904 as well as died on January 1, 1904, a day before he was expected to be born. On one more marker was “Why Dident I,” above an unknown birth date as well as words, “Lived wondering why. died for no reason.”

Amusement swallowed my heart as I made my method with the fog that loomed that rainy afternoon however it was quickly overpowered by one more — guilt. A unusual blend of delight as well as pain jolted my being upon seeing the most typical reasons I uttered in an attempt to evade tasks as well as responsibilities. as well as that’s what makes this location effectual. It links with the lucky souls that walk its grounds as well as plants a sense of positivity in them. Be Positive, ends the message on the entrance marker.

Inspiration I discover in numerous locations however not at a graveyard, at least not typically. however the Cemetery of Negativism provided me that as well as more. Travel, to me, is therapy. many of us travel to have fun, sure. however a great number of us likewise travel for other reasons — to escape, to forget, to begin anew. We go distances, take risks, dive into new experiences while bring a load. Some whisper them away to trees. Some bury them in the ground. Others just let it decrease — piece by piece — along the way. all of us hope to discover three things — fun, clarity, peace of mind. Oddly enough, I discovered all of them at the Cemetery of Negativism.

Parasailing in Boracay: 15 minutes of concern and fancy

My life was at the mercy of a single rope.

As the wind blew me away from the boat, I was briefly taken to my juvenile years, when all I did all weekend was run across a cleared field and fly a kite. but this time was different. This time, I was the kite.

It happened so fast. One moment I was seated at the back of the boat; the next, I was high up in the air. I barely remember what happened in between. one of the boatman securely strapped me to a harness attached to the parachute and explained the do’s and don’ts while at it. “You’ll be up there for 15 minutes,” he said. “If you want to go down before the time is up for whatever reason, just do this.” He raised an arm and drew imaginary circles with his elbow.

Not gonna happen, I thought. Fifteen minutes is a short time, a very short time if you’re having a blast.

He unspooled the rope, and the wind snatched us and carried us skyward. slowly the boat got smaller and a lot more quiet while I tried my darnedest to not show any emotion. There was something scary about the whole thing. Exciting, definitely, but there was a tiny bit of concern in knowing that all that was keeping me safe was this thin line. all of me was on this line. catastrophe was very unlikely, but there was no one there with me to blow away images of this rope snapping. chicken was what I was, a flying chicken.

Up, up and away!
Back to reality

It took me a couple a lot more minutes to pull myself together and start looking around. There I was, dozens of meters up in the air, staring down at one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Unfortunately, we were too far from the shore to have a good look, and it was too early for the sunset. It was a great view of Bulabog beach nonetheless.

The boat continued to drag the kite — me, the kite — across the sea. The longer I stayed in that altitude, the a lot more comfortable I got. Nerves had abandoned my body, leaving only a sense of achievement. It might not be such an accomplishment to some people, but it was a big deal for someone like me (read: coward). I was soaring like a bird, like a plane… and ideal on cue I looked up and realized that the chute displayed a Superman logo.

The feeling of invincibility began to grow in me when I observed the boat grow bigger with it. one of the boatmen wound the rope around the spool and I was pulled back to reality. My 15 minutes was up.

Withdrawing money from ATM Abroad: 7 DOs as well as DON’Ts

For us, withdrawing from an ATM is the most practical method of getting money abroad. In numerous destinations around the world, these money machines are everywhere. It’s likewise a great deal safer than bring significant sums of money with you or handling money changers.

However, withdrawing money abroad isn’t rather the exact same as doing it at home. If you’re not cautious or thoughtful about it, you may end up losing money. So right here are seven helpful suggestions that will enable you to maximize each deal as well as prevent unnecessary hiccups.

1. DO produce a travel account.

This is something I organized a long time ago. When I realized I would be traveling A LOT, I chose to set up a travel account.

What is a “travel account”? Basically, it’s a separate ATM account that I utilize when I travel. I have at least two bank accounts: one where I put my savings, which we shall phone call “Savings Account” as well as the other is where I put money that I will spend when traveling, which we shall phone call “Travel Account.”

There are numerous benefits of having these two accounts. The cost savings Account is a passbook account where my life cost savings are. This is likewise where my income goes every payday. This is likewise what I utilize when applying for a visa.

The travel Account is what I utilize when I travel. It doesn’t have as much funds. however before every trip, I just typically transfer money from the cost savings Account to the travel Account. Here’s why:

If you lose your ATM card or the account gets compromised, you’re not putting your cost savings in danger.

Having a separate bank account for travel provides you much more manage of your costs during the trip. It enables you to view your costs much more closely. For example, if you have a P50,000 budget plan for a trip, each time you withdraw cash, you’ll be reminded exactly how much money you have left for this trip. It’s much more psychological. It’s like playing mind games with myself, hahaha. however it works for me.

I only bring my travel Account’s ATM card when I travel. If your cost savings Account has an ATM card too, keep it somewhere safe.

2. DO phone call your bank before the trip.

Once upon a time, I failed to notify my bank that I would be traveling to Greece. It was a dream trip for me. I was truly excited. When I landed at Athens airport, the very first thing I did was try to withdraw cash. as well as just like that, my ATM card was blocked. say thanks to God I was traveling with Vins at the time. He shouldered all my costs up until I had it sorted out.

If you plan on utilizing your ATM card abroad, it is essential to let your bank know. Without filing an advisory, the bank will believe that you’re still in your house country as well as that your transactions abroad are suspicious, which can result in a deactivation of your card.

3. DON’T utilize non-bank ATMs.

If you’ve been to Europe, you may have discovered a great deal of non-bank ATMs or bankomat everywhere. Like, EVERYWHERE. In every flight terminal we landed at, in every traveler area we visit. as well as it’s unfortunate since they rip off unsuspecting tourists.

Many non-bank money machines enable you to withdraw money conveniently, yes, however at a horrible rate. We tried it a couple of times when we very first traveled to Europe as well as we never made that error again.

4. DON’T accept the dynamic Currency Conversion

Some ATMs will offer you what they phone call “Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC)“. It’s in some cases called Cardholder favored Currency (CPC). Don’t autumn for it.

When you withdraw abroad, the ATM will ask you whether or not you want to be billed in your card’s original currency (PHP if your card is from the Philippines) or in the destination’s regional currency. If you agree to be billed in your house currency, you’re letting them set their own exchange rate. This is where they will rip you off since they will utilize a poor exchange rate as well as in some cases add a markup or foreign deal admin fees.

This is completely legal, however it sure feels like a scam!

So what ought to you do? always choose the destination’s regional currency.

If you’re in Thailand as well as the device asks, “Would you like to be billed in BAHT or in your card’s house currency?” select BAHT.

In Korea, if the device asks, “Would you like to be billed in WON or in your card’s house currency?” select WON.

In Singapore, if the device asks, “Would you like to be billed in SGD or in your card’s house currency?” select SGD.

In this example, if I selected to proceed with dynamic Conversion, I would have lost P1200 for withdrawing 2000 Croatian kuna. That’s a great deal of money.
Always decline the dynamic conversion. always select to be billed in the destination’s regional currency.

5. DON’T withdraw frequently.

13 best things TO do in SAGA, JAPAN

It was Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto who introduced Saga to me. In the film between Maybes, this humble, little-known prefecture became the setting of an unlikely romance. While Saga’s rustic charm sure feels cinematic, there is definitely more to this unassuming destination than what can be captured on cam.

Saga is one of the seven prefectures that make up Kyushu Island. located in the northwestern side of the island and situated next to Fukuoka, it is easily accessible. However, most tourists coming from Fukuoka, considered the primary gateway to Kyushu, breeze past this often overlooked destination in favor of Nagasaki. but there are many reasons to stop and take your time in Saga. here are some of them.

Mifuneyama Rakuen
Yutoku Inari Shrine
Saga Prefectural government Office
Zombie Land Saga
Saga Balloon Fiesta

Sagajoka Hinamatsuri (Doll Festival)

Mifuneyama Rakuen

This was our most unforgettable stop in Saga. We visited in late November, so the entire site was clad in the fiery colors of fall.

Mifuneyama Rakuen is a picturesque garden in the shadows of Mt. Mifuneyama, a postcard-worthy mountain that looks like the hull of a ship. completed in 1845, this was originally built as the holiday home of Shigeyoshi Nabeshima, a feudal lord. Spanning 50 hectares, this sprawling park takes pride in its walking trails that will take you around the site including a still pond that mirrors its breathtaking surroundings perfectly.

The best time to visit is spring, when the cherry blossom trees — all 5000 of them — reach the peak of their bloom. aside from the sakura season, autumn is also a great time as the trees paint the site red and orange.

Entrance fee: ¥600
Hours open: 8am-5pm (may change on certain dates)
Nearest station: Takeo-Onsen Station.

Yutoku Inari Shrine

Welcoming over three million visitors annually, Yutoku Inari Shrine is undoubtedly one of the three most popular Inari shrines; the other two are Kyoto’s Fushimi Inari Shrine and Aichi’s Toyokawa Inari Shrine. most visitors flock to the Shinto shrine to ask for good family fortune, good business, traffic safety, and a huge catch. The whole complex is stunning. It has a gate, a bridge, a garden, small ponds, the main building, a museum, the numerous dark orange (or red) torii gates, and other beautiful buildings.

Admission Fee: FREE; For the Yutoku Museum: ¥300 (Adult) / ¥200 (Students) / ¥100 (7-15 y/o); For the Garden: ¥200
Opening Hours: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: 1855, Furueda, Kashima City, Saga Prefecture
Nearest Station: JR Hizen-Kashima Station. travel time from JR Hakata station to JR Hizen-Kashima station is about an hour via limited express Train Kamome for around ¥3200. From the station, take the bus to Yutoku Inari Shrine. The bus fare is ¥320.

Saga Prefectural government Office

What will you be doing at a government office, you ask? The Saga Prefectural government office offers a 360-degree, unobstructed view from its observation floor (called Saga 360). To manage your expectations, it isn’t that tall. It stands only 50 meters, but it is the tallest building in the city. If the weather cooperates, you can even see Mt. Unzen, an active volcano in Nagasaki Prefecture.

If you can, visit at around sunset when the city is bathed in golden light. After admiring the vista, have a taste of Saga’s rich, delectable cuisine at Shino, a restaurant on the same floor. You can dig into some tender, juicy Saga beef and delicious sashimi.

If you visit at night, you can also enjoy a projection mapping show! more about that in the next section.

Observation Hall operating Hours: Weekdays, 8:30am-10pm; Saturdays, 10am-10pm; Sundays, 10am-9pm

Nearest train station: JR Saga Station. From here, you can take the bus from nearby Bus center to Kencho-mae bus stop. It’s a short walk from there. You can also walk straight from Saga Station, but it’s gonna take at least 20 minutes.

Zombie Land Saga

Over the past few years, one of the anime shows that made the biggest waves in Japan is Zombie Land Saga, which tells the story of Sakura Minamoto, a high school student who met an untimely death on the way to an audition. Years later, she was resurrected together with other zombies to form a 7-piece singing group called Franchouchou and promote Saga Prefecture.

That’s a very odd story concept — outrageous, even — but I have to admit that it’s very interesting. Obviously, this is fiction (duh), but the great thing about it is, Saga Prefecture embraced it!

In fact, at the observation deck of the Saga Prefectural government office building, you can enjoy a projection mapping show featuring Zombie Land Saga. It culminates in an exclusive animated concert. but that’sसबै होइन।

Saaga

Ureahino

Urehono onssen
